Former Attorney General John Ashcroft is scheduled to appear today before the House Judiciary Committee. The hearing is "From the Department of Justice to Guantanamo Bay: Administration Lawyers and Administration Interrogation Rules, Part V."

Also today, over at House Oversight and Government Reform, a full committee hearing is scheduled on "Business Practices in the Individual Health Insurance Market:  Termination of Coverage.”

Meanwhile, over on the Senate side, the Senate Committee on Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs has scheduled a hearing for today on tax cheats using tax havens abroad. Witnesses include at least one employee of the usually closed-mouth banking system in Liechenstein, where U.S. super-rich reportedly stash billions to avoid billions in taxes. This at a time of soaring national debt, budget deficits and pressing need . . .

The Judiciary and Senate hearings begin at 9:30 a.m. The Oversight & Government Reform hearing will begin at 10:00 a.m.
