Here it is, Super Tuesday--or Super Duper, or Tsumani Tuesday, etc--anything to draw attention to the bells and whistles of election results as conveyed in large media outlets, and to draw attention away from any problems counting the actual votes. Live blogging:
10:25 a.m.: MSNBC: 'Morning Joe' Scarborough and a sidekick are kicking around much-hashed-over queries and opinions with a white female representative from the Wall Street Journal and an African-American male rep from the Washington Post. The focus, per Scarborough, is on 'identity politics' which according to him the Dems have always had a tendency toward, and now we have, again per Scarborough, women voting for "Hillary" and African-Americans voting for Obama. On the Hispanic vote, the group sagely agrees that Hispanics will stay with Clinton. Obama will not entice them away, not even with the Ted Kennedy endorsement.
One groupist reflects that all Hispanic households, acc to him, used to have two pictures on the wall: the Virgin Mary, and JFK. In spite of those ties, they opine soberly, Ted Kennedy's endorsing Obama (scant mention of Caroline Kennedy here) will not do Obama good, and may even have a downside.
Net impression, this group is doing its little utmost to make Obama less than 50-50 with Clinton.
Also: looks as though Obama is doing much better, running a considerably more brilliant campaign, than any of his big-hearted donors at Goldman Sachs and Merrill Lynch, et al., intended for him to. Mrs. Clinton drew the same corporate donors, of course. Along with the usual GOP suspects.
11:35 a.m. CNN: voters are literally wired up by white-collar goons at CNN, to see how their brains react. Sample statement: "their mouths say one thing, their brains say another."
Net impression: they may SAY they do not like what Mrs. Clinton is saying, but their brain waves show what they really think. CorpSpeak for, well, she is the one They really want [showing an African-American man w/ electrodes wired to his skull.] What were the odds?
No wonder, with Obama doing great, and the MSM doing its best to put a drag-line to the anchor, the stock market is down 200+.
CorpSpeMouth is speaking for Hillary Clinton. It will be interesting, after half a billion $ worth of 'free media' given to her since 2003 by the largest media outlets, to see whether any of the MSM acknowledge this simple fact and its effect on the 2008 election--namely, that even a buy-in by any of the solid candidates from Joe Biden to Chris Dodd to John Edwards to Bill Richardson would have cost $100 million.
