Among the items in a growing list of anomalies, deceptions and strong intimations of vote fraud in Ohio come the following, sent to me by correspondents:

  • Returns certified by officials recorded that all but 10 registered voters in the Miami County, Ohio, town of Concord voted on Election Day. So far, the election challenge team has identified more than 10 registered Concord citizens who did not vote. The discrepancy raises the possibility of election fraud.
  • Citizens in TrumbullCounty, using electronic machines, who voted for Kerry saw their votes register as votes for Bush. There have been hearings in TrumbullCounty and other counties, raising further possibility of election fraud.
  • Volunteer attorneys challenging contested returns are being cooperated with in Cleremont County. Today (Dec.22) a team of attorneys pored over election records at the Cleremont County Board of Elections.
  • In MahoningCounty, election observers have testified under oath, more than a dozen voting machines switched Kerry votes to Bush votes repeatedly, while voters watched.
  • About 580 more absentee voters were certified in MahoningCounty than election board officials identified.
  • A public hearing at the WarrenHeights and Trumbull Library, in MahoningValley, where the vote count went to Bush, recorded "thousands of complaints of voting irregularities."
  • In FranklinCounty and other counties, largely Democratic precincts suffered a shortage of voting machines. All the precincts where voting machines were short and lines were long were Democratic precincts.
  • Rep. John Conyers (D-MI) and other members of the Congressional Black Caucus have pointed out that more than half the votes cast in Ohio and the nation were recorded on electronic voting machines owned by Republicans, with no audit trail. One voting machine company, Diebold, also manufactures ATMs (automated teller machines) that do provide a paper receipt for transactions.
  • On Monday, Dec. 20, a legal team partly comprising volunteer attorneys issued subpoenas to top election officials in 10 counties where vote-count fraud is suspected.
  • The subpoenas have been rejected by the Ohio Secretary of State, Republican Kenneth Blackwell. Subpoenas are the first step in interviewing people under oath. Blackwell was also co-chair of the Ohio Bush-Cheney campaign.
  • Attorney Peter Pectarsky of the election challenge legal team says that 10 depositions were served, the other side filed a motion to stop the process, and the challengers will file a response.
  • A lawsuit has been filed at the Ohio Supreme Court, charging that a fair vote count would give the state and the presidency to John Kerry rather than to Bush. Notice of depositions has been sent to President George Bush, Vice President Dick Cheney, Karl Rove and Ohio Secretary of State J. Kenneth Blackwell to appear and give testimony in Moss v Bush et al.
  • The election challenge suit was filed Dec. 17. Blackwell, the Bush-Cheney campaign, and Ohio’s Republican electors have 10 days to respond. Each side then has 20 days for discovery or to gather additional evidence, with those bringing the suit going first. “With January 6 being the date Congress accepts the Electoral College vote, and January 20 being the inauguration, the GOP seems determined to make the recount drag on as long as possible.”

Question of the century:  what is the GOP hiding in Ohio?

Jesse Jackson calls Ohio's vote "the biggest deal since Selma" and is calling for a national rally in Columbus January 3.

There will also be a national demonstration in
Washington, D.C., on January 6.

It is hoped that a Senator will be willing to join the Representatives who intend to challenge the electoral vote.
